Nada Brahma

An exciting new addition to the Seattle world music community is "Nada Brahma," a trio featuring world class sitar player Pandit Debi Prasad Chatterjee, tabla player Tor Dietrichson, and saxophonist Neil Welch.  Meaning "Sound is God," Nada Brahma pairs classical Hindustani music with western-oriented improvisation.  Since early in 2006 the group has debut performances at the University of Washington and performed clinics throughout the Seattle area.  As deeply devoted musicians and scholars of world music and their own respective traditions, Debi, Tor, and Neil work to develop their approach to deeply interactive and personal improvisation and composition.
